<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake pad assembly that is constituted of a brake receiving plate, a shim and a friction material. <P>SOLUTION: The brake receiving plate has a substantially-flat main part, and at least one molding hole is formed at the main part. The substantially-flat shim is attached to a first face of the brake receiving plate. The shim has at least one integrated hook which extends to at least one molding hole of the brake receiving plate. The friction material is molded on a second face opposing the first face of the brake receiving plate, the hook is embedded by filling at least one molding hole, and the shim is held with respect to the brake receiving plate.
