IMAGING SYSTEM, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR USE IN THE SAME, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for generating a high resolution image from a plurality of low resolution images different in imaging location which implements a reduced computational cost by suppressing superfluous registration processing in super resolution processing.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 2 includes: a shift cancellation section 102 for canceling a shift of a low resolution image on the basis of imaging location to generate a shift-canceled image; a motion detection section 103 for comparing the shift-canceled image with a reference image to detect a motion in the low resolution image; a registration processing section 106 for registering the shift-canceled image with the reference image to generate a registration image; and a reconstruction processing section 107 for generating a high resolution image by reconstruction processing. The reconstruction processing section is configured to process a given region to be processed by using the registration image if any motion has been detected or by using the low resolution image or shift-canceled image if no motion has been detected.
