<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle obstacle detection system which has a wide obstacle detection range and does not impair design. <P>SOLUTION: An on-vehicle obstacle detection system comprises: a plurality of sensors 20 (20a to 20c) which send an ultra sonic wave and receive a reflected wave thereof; and a control section 11 provided in an ECU 10 mounted on a vehicle. The control section 11 has detection means 12 which determines whether or not an obstacle is present based on a reception of the reflected wave by each sensor 20 and performs to: send the ultrasonic wave with the sensor 20a as a reference sensor; obtain time differences between reception timing when the other sensors 20 (20b and 20c) receive the reflection wave and the reception timing when the sensor 20a receives the reflection wave for each of the other sensors 20 (20b and 20c); and, with a sending timing of the sensor 20a as a reference, set the sending timing of the other sensors 20 (20b and 20c) so that the sending timing of the other sensors 20 (20b and 20c) is shifted by the obtained time differences in a reverse direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
