A pyrene compound represented by general formula (1): wherein X represents one of a naphthalene ring and a phenanthrene ring; when X represents the naphthalene ring, a 1-pyrenyl group indicated in general formula (1) is bonded to a 2-position of the naphthalene ring; when X represents the phenanthrene ring, the 1-pyrenyl group is bonded to one of a 2-position and a 3-position of the phenanthrene ring; and R1 and R2 are each independently selected from a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group.
