This invention relates to bicyclic and tricyclic SUMOylation inhibitor compounds and methods for inhibiting a SUMOylation enzymes including SUMO E1 and SUMO E2 in a cell, especially for treating cancer, degenerative diseases and viral infections. Such a method may include administering an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition containing the described herein to a subject having the cancer. The pharmaceutical composition may include a SUMOylation inhibitor compound as described herein. In some embodiments, the method for treating a disease may further comprise administering one or more DNA damaging therapies in combination with administration of the pharmaceutical composition. |
