[Also in Divisions B2 and B3] A finishing machine, Figs. 1 and 2, comprises a tub 1 on which is directly mounted a motor 4 having an eccentric weight 5 mounted for rotation about the axis of the motor which axis preferably extends parallel to the axis of the semi-cylindrical bottom 2 of the tub 1. Side plates 6 secured to the end plates 29, 30 of the tub 1 by rubber vibration-isolating mounts 7 have shafts 8, 9 rigidly secured thereon and journalled in bearings 10 mounted on a stationary frame 11. A crank 14 mounted on the shaft 8 is connected by a rod 13 to an eccentrically located pin 16 on a wheel 15 rotated by a timing motor 12 so as to tilt the tub 1. In a modification, Figs. 9 and 10, flanged side drums 206 are rigidly joined to the end plates 229, 230 of the tub 201; adjustable screws 232 mounted in the drums each carry a spring clamp 234 rotatable about the axis of the screw. Each clamp 234 is secured to one end of a spring 207, the other end of which is secured to a collar 235. The collars 235 are secured to a shaft 208 mounted in bearings 210 and extending through openings 237 in the two end plates 229, 230. |
