APPRATUS FOR CONTROLLING OSCILLATION OF EDGE DAM OF TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTER AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling the oscillation of an edge dam of a twin roll strip caster are provided to effectively suppress the production and growth of skull by selectively employing an edge dam vibrating method according to the timing of casting and the type and position of skull. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling the oscillation of an edge dam of a twin roll strip caster comprises a pendular oscillating part(10), a horizontal oscillating part(20), and a vertical oscillating part(30). The pendular oscillating part oscillates an edge dam refractory material(150) using an oscillation cam(12) attached to a pendular oscillation plate(11). The horizontal oscillating part laterally oscillates a horizontal oscillation plate(23) using a servo valve and a hydraulic cylinder, thereby laterally oscillating the edge dam refractory material. The vertical oscillating part vertically oscillates the edge dam refractory material.
