PURPOSE: A cleaning agent for metal is provided to obtain improved cleaning performance and dispersibility by employing ethanol as alcohol with a carbon number 1-10. CONSTITUTION: A cleaning agent for metal comprises 5-10weight% of alcohol with a carbon number of 1-10, 1-1.5weight% of carbonate, 10-30weight% of glycol ether, 30-50weight% of alkanolamine with a carbon number of 1-10, 0.5-5weight% of ring-type aminocompound, 0.5-5weight% of organic acid, and water of the remaining amount. The alcohol with a carbon number of 1-10 is ethanol, the carbonate is sodium carbonate, and the glycol ether is dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether.
