PURPOSE: A remote meter reading system and a data recovery method thereof are provided to check power usage of a consumer in real time and to enhance reliability of meter reading data by preventing the omission of the meter reading data. CONSTITUTION: A remote meter reading system comprises a meter(100), a data concentrating unit(200), and a meter reading server(300). The meter reading server transmits a recollection request signal for reception of omitted data if meter reading data is omitted. The data concentrating unit transmits the recollection request signal to the meter and receives the omitted data from the meter. The meter transmits the omitted data to the data concentrating unit when receiving the recollection request signal.
