BASE STATION AND MERHOD FOR MEASURING POWER FOR CONTROL OF AMR RATE

PURPOSE: A power measurement base station apparatus and method thereof are provided to control optimized transmission rates by measuring the DPDCH(Dedicated Physical Data Channel) power of a forward DPCH(Dedicated Physical Channel). CONSTITUTION: A measurement unit(301) measures the forward DPDCH power of a user terminal. A reporting unit(303) reports the measured power to a base station control unit(307). The base station control unit controls transmission rates allocated to the user terminal according to the measured power. A storage unit stores a table which respectively receives bit information from each class.
