SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GROWING PLANTS

PURPOSE: Plant cultivation management system and method capable of setting the optimum cultivation condition for plants are provided to use side and color information of the plants and the growth result of the plants for setting the cultivation condition. CONSTITUTION: A plant cultivation management system comprises the following: a photographing device taking images of a plant and a reference ruler closely arranged to the plant; a cultivation environment management device controlling the cultivation condition of the plant based on the environment variables; a controller receiving the images of the plant and the cultivation condition, and detecting size information of the plant from the images for controlling the cultivation environment management device; a first communications unit receiving the plant images from the photographing device; a photographing device controller(320) controlling the operation of the photographing device; a size calculation unit(330) calculating the size of the plant by comparing the actual size and the size inside the images of the reference ruler; a size calculation unit(350) detecting color information from the plant images; and a growth analysis unit(360) analyzing the correlation of growth data of the plants and the cultivation condition.
