1,018,813. Valves. CARRIER CORPORATION. Nov. 9, 1962, No. 42521/62. Heading F2V. [Also in Divisions F4 and G3] Air is supplied to an enclosure 28 from plenum chambers 13 and 13<SP>1</SP>, outlet slots from the plenums being controlled by an inflatable damper 50 surrounding and in communication with a control chamber 40 in which a pressure is maintained such that in use that part of the damper inside the plenum is deflated and that part outside the plenum is inflated. The chamber 40 communicates with the damper via openings 45 and 46 and is connected to the plenum air supply duct 3 by a line 51. The chamber 40 is also vented to the enclosure 28 through a line 54, a passage 61 in a piston 60 and an opening 62 in the piston cylinder, the position of the piston being determined by the balance between a spring 63 and pressure in the duct 3. Pressure in the chamber 40 is further controlled by a valve 66 operated by a thermostat bulb 68 in the enclosure 28. |
