PURPOSE: An electronic shelf label and a controlling method thereof are provided to extend battery lifetime by discontinuing alive signal transmission of an electronic shelf label. CONSTITUTION: A communication module(32) receives display data and business closing/opening time information from a server and transmits an alive signal to the server. A display unit(38) displays the received data. A memory(34) receives information about the received data. A controlling unit(36) synchronizes time with the server. The controlling unit discontinues the transmission of the alive signal. |
