<p>940,240. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. HAGAN CONTROLS Ltd. March 1,1960 [March 2,1959 ], No. 7161/60. Heading G3P. Also in Division F2] A valve member 64 operable to set up an output pressure in a chamber situated below a diaphragm 59 in response to the resultant of pressures acting on diaphragms 36, 36<SP>1</SP>, 43 consists of parts controlling an inlet 66 to the chamber and an outlet 631 from the chamber and is actuated by a beam 12 movable about a fulcrum constituted by a leaf spring 31 which is adjustable to alter the effective lever arms of the beam. The diaphragms 36, 43 are rigidly connected to each other by an element 45 and the diaphragms 36<SP>1</SP>, 59 are similarly connected together by an element 60, and extensions 48, 48<SP>1</SP> and 51 of diaphragm clamping screws locate the elements 45, 60 laterally on the beam. Adjustable stops 100, 101 coact with the beam which may be stabilized by a device 102. Each diaphragm has an annular corrugation so that its effective area can be varied by altering the position of its central portion relative to its peripheral portion and such alteration is carried out simultaneously and in opposite senses on each pair of diaphragms 36, 43 and 36<SP>1</SP>, 59 by adjustment of screw-pressed wedges 90, 91 by which the beam 12 is clamped to the elements 45, 60. By this means the effective area of the diaphragms of each pair can be equalized. The diaphragm 59 can be biased upwardly or downwardly by a spring 77 having a connection with a screw 80 coacting with a rotatable element 81.</p> |
