The method involves emitting light of specific color or predetermined wavelength from light sources (2) such as LEDs of illumination device (1). A camera (3) is arranged in the illumination device, in order to detect the reflection properties of the object. The light emitted from the light sources is controlled based on the reflection properties of the object, and color rendering value of the illumination device is adjusted to minimum value.
