PURPOSE: A portable terminal, server, and information providing method thereof are provided to enable a user to receive content information from a manufacturing company of a portable terminal by proving content information reception chance to the user. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) executes Wi-Fi communication in a Wi-Fi area of a random AP(Access Point). When a portable terminal enters into the Wi-Fi area, an authentication unit(120) requests authentication through the MAC(Medium Access Control) address information of the portable terminal. When the portable terminal is authenticated, a control unit(130) receives content information permitted by the communication unit.
