A DISPLAY DEVICE EMPLOYING ELECTROCHROMIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A display device using an electrochromic element and a control method thereof are provided to change the color of the electrochromic element to the color of a bezel while a display panel is off. CONSTITUTION: An electrochromic element(30) covers a display panel(50). A bezel(40) surrounds the electrochromic element. A transparent substrate(20) covers the electrochromic element and the bezel. A control unit drives the display panel and the electrochromic element. The electrochromic element becomes transparent while the display panel is on. On the other hand, the color of the electrochromic element is changed to the color of the bezel while the display panel is off.
