<p>An enhanced menu display method and a digital processing unit for the same are provided to minimize the frequency of key operations to select and execute a menu by basically positioning the cursor at the center of menu items. A menu display interface has a 3 by 3 array structure. The 3x3 array consists of one central section(35) located at the center of the screen and the other 8 sections(31-34,36-39) surrounding the central section(35). When menus are displayed, a cursor(21) is located at the central section(35) according to initialization. The cursor(21), initially and basically located at the central section(35), moves to the section of a specific menu according to a user's key input to shift the cursor(21) to an arbitrary direction. The user can select one among the 8 menus at one key operation.</p> |
