A photographic camera comprises, see Fig. 1, a shutter housing 1, automatic exposure setting mechanism comprising a pin 7 on a diaphragm disc disc 6 and a manually operable diaphragm setting ring 2. In the setting A, automatic exposure setting may take place in known manner. Pin 7 penetrates an aperture 8 in the housing 1 and a recess 9 in the ring 2 and in its idle position abuts edge 10 of the aperture 8 in which position it can be locked by end 13a of an arm 13 pivoted at 3 and resiliently connected to a pawl 5 which is spring urged into engagement with cam 12 on ring 2, when ring 2 is rotated into a manual setting position. In the automatic setting position the cam 12 is such that arm 13 is moved away from pin 7. If, by accident ring 2 is moved into the manual setting position when pin 7 is not in its idle position, arm 13 is resilient enough not to jam pin 7. In another embodiment a manually operable ring for setting the shutter speed which is similar to ring 2 and has a cam similar to cam 12 is provided in addition to ring 2.</p> |
