PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for controlling lighting are provided to prevent wrong light emission by verifying lighting control data in a remote lighting control using a network. CONSTITUTION: A lighting data receiving unit(310) extracts the first lighting data about a preset LED from the first lighting control signal. A verifying unit(340) verifies the first lighting control data based on a check code. An error processing unit(350) records errors when the verification of the first lighting control data fails. A driving signal processing unit(360) converts the first lighting control data into a driving signal if the first lighting control data is verified. An LED driving unit(370) controls the lighting of the LED source based on a driving signal.
