PURPOSE: A charging method and apparatus for an electric vehicle are provided to charge a battery with the lowest charge power rate, thereby maximizing energy use efficiency of distributed power source or country power net. CONSTITUTION: A communication module comprises a first communication unit(210a) and a second communication unit(210b). A charge mode setting module(220) sets an electric vehicle battery charge mode. A charge power setting module(230) selects a charge power supply that provides charge power to an electric vehicle battery. A charge switch(240) mutually connects the electric vehicle battery and charge power. A storage module(260) stores power Information, electric vehicle battery information, and battery charge information. A charge control module(270) set required charge capacity from the battery information, charge modes, and power information and calculates one or more time zones for charging the electric vehicle battery with the lowest charge power rate from the power information. |
