PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling nodes in a wireless communication system and method thereof are provided to activate or inactivate antennas of a node based on cooperative capacity. CONSTITUTION: A traffic load determination apparatus(110) determines traffic loads(112) in a wireless communication system. A cooperation capacity determination unit(120) determines available cooperation capacity(122) between a node and other node in the wireless communication system. A power control unit(130) activates or inactivates antennas of the node based on the determined traffic loads and the determined cooperation capacity.
