PURPOSE: A navigation device and a method for guiding u-turns using U-turn possible signal information thereof are provided to prevent accidents due to driving over the centerline and traffic signal violation by determining whether a user decelerates or accelerates because flickering cycle information including residual time information in which signal information on an U-turn spot is changed to U-turn additional information is shown. CONSTITUTION: A method for guiding u-turns using U-turn possible signal information is as follows. Whether or not a current location of a driving vehicle is reached with respect to a u-turn guide spot before a preset distance of a u-turn spot along a searched route to a destination location based on the current location received from a GPS receiving unit is determined(s103). If the vehicle reaches the U-turn guide spot, U-turn additional information indicating detailed types of U-turn possible signal information corresponding to the U-turn spot is extracted(s105). U-turn final guide information including the extracted U-turn additional information is outputted(s108).
