PURPOSE: A compressor is provided to easily change the direction of an outlet of a pressure relief valve to a desired direction at a low cost and to prevent an increase in manufacturing costs by changing a refrigerant spraying direction without any additional means. CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a housing, a pressure relief valve(190), and a covering wall(135). The housing comprises a plurality of compression spaces, a suction chamber, and a discharging chamber. The refrigerant is pressed by the back and forth movement a piston inside the compression space. The pressure relief valve is installed at one side of the housing, thereby discharging the refrigerant to the outside when abnormal pressure is generated. The covering wall is extended from the housing where the pressure relief valve is installed and covers the surroundings of the pressure relief valve and comprises a discharging hole. The refrigerant is sprayed in the radial direction with respect to the shaft of the pressure relief valve through the discharging hole.
