PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing sulfonamide-based compounds is provided to prevent or treat hepatitis type C with low toxicity to hepatocytes. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hepatitis type C contains sulfonamide-based compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. In chemical formula 1, R1 is H or halogen; R2 is C1-C10 alkyl or C1-C10 alkoxy; and R3 is -SO_2-NH-(C_6H_3)R4R5 or -CH_2-A-(C6-C20 aryl); and R4 and R5 are independently different or same halogen or CF3.
