PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for distributing load in a wireless communication system are provided to accurately confirm cell load information of a base station. CONSTITUTION: A base station receives resource state information from a neighbor cell for distribution of load(S310). The resource state information includes load information and cell load information of neighbor cells. The base station selects a target cell based on the resource state information(S320). The base station handovers neighbor terminals to the target cell if the target cell is selected(S330).
