Disclosed is an energy source assembly (210) for use with a lighting device (200). The assembly is comprised of a plurality of energy sources (225), such as batteries or electrochemical cells, and a housing (219) for the energy sources (225). The housing (219) includes a plurality of conductors (227), a first electrode (221), a second electrode (223) and an outer feature. The plurality of conductors (227) are disposed to electrically couple the plurality of energy sources (225) in an electrical circuit arrangement which includes a first terminal coupled the first electrode (221) and a second terminal coupled to the second electrode (223). The first and second electrodes (221, 223) are disposed externally to the housing (219) and are configured to be electrically coupled to the lighting device (200) so that a tail cap (230) of the lighting device (200) does not form part of the electrical circuit. |
