The invention relates to a vertical axis wind power plant which collects wind energy and converts it into electric power useful for extracting water from various depths. According to the invention, the plant consists of a rotor (A) of the Darrieus type, a generator (B) provided with regulator without starting moment and a supply subassembly ( C) consisting of a storage battery (12) and a submersible pump (13) with a controller, by mounting the generator (B) with its regulator at the base of the Darrieus-type rotor (A) and equidistantly arranging some supporting arms (3) on a rotor of the generator (B) there being ensured a simplified and statically balanced construction, the electric power delivered by the generator (B) being stored in the storage battery (12) which supplies the submersible pump (13).
