<p>Disclosed is a wind power installation (1) for generating electric power from moving ambient air. The installation comprises an external sleeve which forms the boundary of a flow channel (3) through which the air is conducted. The channel (3) has a first section (7) into which the ambient air can be introduced. This section (7) has an essentially constant cross section and is provided with an air acceleration device (39). The channel also has a second, tapering section (9) which is followed by a third section (11). A rotor (25) is installed in the third section (11) and is set in motion by air flowing through the channel (3). The motion of the rotor (25) is used to generate electric power. A fourth, enlarging section (13) is also provided and is followed by a fifth section (15). The fifth section (15) comprises a second air acceleration device (85) to discharge the air from the flow channel (3).</p> |
