The present invention concerns a central rotor element for a variable-pitch, two-blade Mega Watt wind turbine, said wind turbine comprising at least a shaft for connection to a rotor, said rotor having a rotor diameter, said shaft being a torque transmitting shaft and/or a rotor carrying shaft, said shaft being directly or indirectly connected to said central rotor element comprising: - a mount, for connection to said shaft, and - two fibre reinforced polymer material shell blade profiles defining respective inner segments of each blade, said central rotor element having a length in the range of 20 to 50% of the rotor dianie ter, and being formed integrally as a single piece, such that the two fibre reinforced polymer inaterial shell blade profiles form a single integrated continuous fibre rem forced shell, wherein said inner segments each are connectable with respective outer segment of respective blades through pitch bearings and pitch gears for rotatable con nection ofsaid outer segments with respect to said inner segments.
