PURPOSE: A nonvolatile memory device and an operating method thereof are provided to prevent the increase of a peak current due to cache program operation by inputting the following program data to a section with low current consumption in a program operation. CONSTITUTION: Current program data is programmed in a memory cell array(S310). A program step is confirmed(S320). The following program data is inputted if the program step is performed over a preset step(S330).
