The installation has suspension cables (11) that are bent in a curved manner and spaced apart from each other. Rollers (16, 18) of a hangerless vehicle are displaced on the cables. A connection unit is interposed between the rollers and a passenger compartment (15) of the vehicle for positioning the passenger compartment longitudinally and transversely. The vehicle has a central unit for controlling jacks (22) so as to compensate rollers' height variations imposed by the cables during displacement of the vehicle on a curved path.
