Provided is a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having beta-glucosidase activity, which is useful in processing cellulosic substrates with transgenic organisms obtained with recombinant vectors containing the polynucleotide. Further provided are corresponding expression vectors and host cells expressing the polypeptide.
