The reservoir (1) has a container (2) for a brake liquid (26), where the container comprises a float (10). A vertical rod (12) is placed on an upper face of the container. A spring (16) surrounds the rod, and a transverse flat part (14) i.e. metal washer, is connected to the rod. One end of the spring is mechanically connected to an upper part of the rod. A set of electrical contacts (20) is arranged in the container on a movement path of the part such that the part rests on the contacts in the presence of insufficient level of liquid in the container.
