Disclosed is a method for purifying a capsular polysaccharide from Streptococcus agalactiae comprising removing contaminating compounds from a solution comprising a capsular polysaccharide from Streptococcus agalactiae by filtration with an adherent filter, wherein said method does not comprise precipitating the capsular saccharide with a cationic detergent followed by re-solubilisation of the capsular saccharide.
