Disclosed is an apparatus for frothing a liquid food product such as milk, comprising a drive unit (1) and a frothing unit (3) which interacts with said drive unit, characterized in that the frothing unit (3) comprises: a guide rod (30) which extends, by way of its longitudinal axis, along a longitudinal direction and which is in the form of a threaded rod (31) along at least one portion; a frothing element (40) which is in threaded engagement with the guide rod (30) and is movable along a helical path on the guide rod (30); and at least one driver (36, 36') adapted to be driven with a circular movement about the longitudinal axis of the guide rod (30) by the drive unit (1) and arranged in such a way that the frothing element (40) is adapted to be driven with a helical movement on the guide rod (30) by the circular movement of the driver (36, 36'). |
