PURPOSE: A location detection system and a location detection method are provided to calculate depth information by search and comparison of an infrared ray light source unit. CONSTITUTION: An interface device(30) inputs a command. The interface device irradiates an infrared ray to a display device. One or more infrared cameras(40) takes a photograph of the infrared ray. One or more infrared cameras generate one or more infrared ray images. A controlling unit(60) analyzes one or more infrared ray images. The controlling unit detects location information of the interface device.
