METHOD FOR HANDOVER BETWEEN AP IN WIRELESS LAN ENVIRONMENT AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A handover method between access points in wireless local area network(LAN) environment and a mobile communication terminal for the same are provided to reduce loads due to monitoring operations. CONSTITUTION: A signal intensity measuring unit(110) searches surrounding access points(AP) and measures the signal intensities of the searched AP. A grouping unit(120) classifies the AP into groups in the order of the signal intensities. A monitoring unit(130) applies differential searching periods to the groups and monitors the signal intensities of AP in the groups according to the periods by using the signal intensity measuring unit. If a handover request event to accessing AP is occurred, a handover unit(140) implements handover based on the signal intensities of the AP under monitoring.
