PURPOSE: A portable terminal, computer readable record medium, and method thereof are provided to enable a user to beneficially use a terminal by pushing an activation button in a deactivation mode. CONSTITUTION: An activation button(120) changes a deactivation mode into an activation mode. When the activation button is pushed, the deactivation mode of a portable terminal is changed into the activation mode and operates predetermined operations. The activation button includes a sub display unit. When the activation button is pushed, the sub display unit displays a different display mode according to the predetermined operations. The display mode includes text, character, pictures, or color.
