PURPOSE: An underwater information collecting apparatus capable of moving on the water is provided to change set coordinates frequently and thus to collect underwater information from desired coordinates using a single sensor. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit(110) implement wireless communication with an external device. A GSP module(120) comprises a GPS receiver receiving GPS satellite signals transmitted from a plurality of GPS satellites. A direction/distance calculating unit(130) calculates the direction and distance from the current GPS coordinates to the destination GPS coordinates. A direction detecting unit(140) detects the current direction of an underwater information collecting apparatus. A driving unit(150) drives the underwater information collecting apparatus. A control unit(160) controls the overall operation of the underwater information collecting apparatus. An underwater sensor(170) collects underwater information during or after the movement of the underwater information collecting apparatus. A mapping unit(180) maps the destination GPS coordinates to a digital map about a specific water area stored in a database(190).
