<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with toner supply control using video count, which is that the timing of actual printing operation and the timing of toner supply operation do not coincide due to a timing difference between development operations for corresponding colors in CPU communication of a video count and tandem printer engine. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus having two or more developing devices corresponding to color components, each of which is used for carrying out development by using two-component developer composed of toner and carrier, comprises count means configured such that the values of each of the components of each of pixels included in a predetermine range of image data are integrated and the integrated values are converted into a count value correlated to an amount of toner consumption of each color component; applying means configured such that the count value of each color component captured by the count means is applied to the image data; and control means configured such that when image formation is carried out for the image data, toner is supplied to the two-component developer of each developing device for the corresponding color component according to the count value of each color component applied by the applying means, and the density of each two-component developer is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
