<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly store condensate formed in an EGR cooler in a drainage mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: First and second EGR coolers 21, 22 are provided in an EGR pipe 14 in series from an exhaust passage 12 toward an intake passage 13, an EGR regulating valve 16 is provided in the EGR pipe, and the second EGR cooler is provided so as to be located lateral to an engine and extended in a vertical direction. EGR gas flows into the second EGR cooler from its lower end and is discharged from its upper end. A drainage mechanism 17 is connected to the EGR pipe connected to the lower end of the second EGR cooler, and a drain pressure intensifying valve 18 and the EGR regulating valve, for opening/closing the EGR pipe, are placed so as to place therebetween a connection of the drainage mechanism to the EGR pipe. A compressed air supply means 19 is connected to the EGR pipe between the drain pressure intensifying valve and the EGR regulating valve, and a controller 26 controls the EGR regulating valve, the drain pressure intensifying valve, the compressed air supply means and the drainage mechanism according to an operating condition of the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
