PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid unnecessarily wasting resources when making a route search of public transportation means.

SOLUTION: A route search server 10 includes a route search tool 110 which specifies an optimum route candidate meeting route search conditions including a starting point and a destination by searching for a next station having minimum operation cost in a route starting at the starting point repeatedly in a chaining manner once the route search conditions are input. The route search server is provided with a virtual landmark registration tool 120 which sets the name of a plurality of stations having the same name as a virtual landmark whose operation costs from the respective stations are zero, and previously registers the virtual land mark in a virtual landmark DB 122 so as to search for the virtual landmark by the route search tool 110, so that the route search tool 110 recognizes the registered virtual landmark as a starting point or destination. Consequently, operation costs between the plurality of stations having the same name can be speedily compared with one another.
