<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a game player pay attention not only to a battle performance result but also to a variable display content of identification information, and to increase excitement and enjoyment of a game, in a game machine which can execute the battle performance during the variable display of the identification information. <P>SOLUTION: When it is decided that the game machine is transited to a jackpot game state, the game machine executes the battle performance for notifying whether a probability variable state should be continued after generating a ready-to-win state in the variable display of a performance symbol. Furthermore, the game machine selects and decides the performance symbol constituting the ready-to-win state from among a plurality of kinds of the performance symbols on the basis of whether the probability variable state should be continued. In this case, the performance symbol constituting the ready-to-win state is decided by making selected probabilities differ from one another depending on when the probability variable state should be continued or when a time that the probability variable state should be not continued.
