The objective of the present invention is to provide an electronic key system for a vehicle by which taking an electronic key out of a vehicle to which the key is used can be accurately detected. This electronic key system for a vehicle is a system in which when an electronic key specific for a vehicle is verified, the vehicle can be started, wherein the system is provided with: an electronic key information acquisition means for acquiring information relating to the position of the electronic key; a taking-out detection means for detecting that the electronic key is taken out from the vehicle, on the basis of the information relating to the position of the electronic key and acquired by the electronic key information acquisition means; and an alarm means for providing an alarm to notify that the electronic key is taken out from the vehicle.
