<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of appropriately executing mute function, and further to provide a display control method. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device being a projector 1 comprises: a display 23 for displaying an input image; an operating section, which is constituted with an operating section 25 and a remote control 3, having a mute key 31; an abnormality detecting section 27 for detecting abnormality; a mute executing section for causing the display 23 to display a mute image and for causing the image display device to transition to a mute state displaying only the mute image according to input operation of the mute key 31; and a display control section for causing the display 23 to display a display image including a first image indicating that the abnormality has been detected in the mute image upon detection of the abnormality by the abnormality detecting section 27 when the image display device is in the mute state and further for causing the display 23 to display the display image including the first image in the input image upon the detection of the abnormality by the abnormality detecting section 27 when the image display device is not in the mute state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
