<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in a system in which a focus signal is delivered to a lens unit and control over automatic focus adjustment is performed on a lens side, when the drive condition of an imaging element of a camera body changes, since the lens side does not know the drive condition of the imaging element, the lens side cannot change drive timing of the lens in tune with accumulation timing of the imaging element or cannot refer to the focus signal correctly, resulting in a failure to judge a focusing direction correctly. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus, a lens unit for controlling drive timing of a focus lens based on information received from the imaging apparatus can be freely attached or detached. The imaging apparatus includes imaging means for performing photoelectric conversion of a subject image to generate an imaging signal and extraction means for extracting a focus signal from the imaging signal. The imaging apparatus transmits information on the focus signal and electrical charge accumulation start timing or end timing in a prescribed line among scan lines of the imaging means to the lens unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
