<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily uniform the bonding strength of a down carcass layer 17. <P>SOLUTION: Cylindrical up and down carcass layers 13, 17 are molded by successively winding up and down plies on a molding drum 11, and both axial ends of the down carcass layer 17 are then folded and retreated. Thereafter, both axial ends of the up carcass layer 13 are folded around a bead 82, and a folded portion 17b of the down carcass layer 17 is folded back and stuck to the outside of a folded portion 13a of the up carcass layer 13. Therefore, the start and terminal ends of the down ply are bonded on the cylindrical molding drum 11 having the same diameter in any axial position.
