<p>Compounds of the formula <FORM:1056429/C2/1> in which R signifies a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical or the corresponding 9,10-dihydro compounds may be produced by dehydrating the corresponding lysergic or 9,10-dihydrolysergic acid amide with phosphorus oxychloride. Examples describe the production of D-lysergic and D-isolysergic acid nitriles, their 1-methyl derivatives and acid maleates thereof. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 961,648.</p> |
