The embodiments of the present invention provide an electronic device and a method for data transmission thereof. The electronic device comprises: a first component part arranged with a first main board, a first processor connected to the first main board, a hardware device which can be shared, and a first connector; a second component part arranged with a second main board, a second processor connected to the second main board, and a second connector arranged correspondingly to the first connector. The first component part and the second component part can be connected by the first connector and the second connector. The first connector is used for receiving first data out of the hardware device from a first driver module of the hardware device via a driver module of the first connector, and sends the first data to the second connector, enabling a driver module of the second connector to provide, via a second driver module of the hardware device, the first data from the second connector for use by a first application running in the second component part. The present invention realizes a simple and effective sharing of the hardware device. |
